The Challenge
PrintCommando previously operated on a hosted Shopify-based system, which provided a stable foundation for online sales. However, the available extensions limited the options for implementing specific business requirements.
The business continued operating under a new name, so alongside rebranding, a technological refresh was also needed. The goal was to create an online store that would not only meet current needs but also provide sufficient flexibility for future development.
The Solution
A distinctive aspect of this project was that CloudBrain could work with a completed design concept and an established visual identity. The task was to implement these ideas precisely on a technical level, develop a custom theme, and build the necessary features and integrations.
The online store was built on WooCommerce, but the result goes well beyond a conventional webshop: the system combines custom product design options, complex pricing and sales features tailored to the business’s operations.
Custom Features and Integrations
During development, particular emphasis was placed on customizable products, checks related to printing processes and flexible business logic.
- Custom product designers: design tools for personalizing mugs and T-shirts.
- Canvas print designer: an interface for creating and ordering custom canvas prints.
- DPI checks: checking the resolution of uploaded artwork to help ensure suitable print quality.
- Volume discounts: pricing adjusted to the number of items ordered.
- B2B sales: features supporting service for business customers.
- Custom tax calculation: tax calculations tailored to the sales processes.
- Invoicing integration: connection to the SuperFaktúra.sk system.
- Online payments: integration with the FiskalPAY payment gateway.
- Shipping integrations: support for Packeta and GLS for order fulfillment.
An Open System with Freedom for Further Development
One of the project’s most important considerations was ensuring that the system would not become an obstacle to future development. PrintCommando’s owners also take part in developing and enhancing features themselves, so they needed a technical foundation that would allow them to implement their own ideas.
Accordingly, CloudBrain deliberately built the online store with an open, extensible architecture. The goal was to create a solution in which new developments could be implemented alongside existing features, without forcing the business to adapt to a closed platform offering only predefined options.
Collaboration and Development
Effective communication played a key role throughout the project. The owners supported development with precise instructions and detailed answers, allowing questions to be clarified together through focused consultations.
This direct collaboration made it possible to align development with the ideas defined in advance while also taking into account considerations that arose during technical implementation.
The Result
PrintCommando received a fully custom, flexibly extensible online store, which we tailored to the business’s own operations and long-term plans.
The system combines personalized product design, technical checks related to printing, complex pricing and the integrations needed for online sales. Thanks to its open architecture, the owners can continue developing and refining the solution themselves in the future.
CloudBrain’s own premium hosting service ensures the secure and reliable operation of the online store.
CloudBrain – custom development, flexibility without compromise.
